Submission of suggestions for continuous improvement of the internal quality system of UJS

One of the basic principles of sustainability of the university's internal quality system is the principle of continuous quality improvement. This principle is based on the identification of the needs and expectations of students, employees and other interested parties. An initiative to improve the quality of processes can be delivered via e-mail. Submitted initiatives are dealt with by the quality assurance authorities. In case of identifiability, the submitter will be informed about the result of the acceptance of the idea.

The study office  provides the following services for students:

● provision of information for applicants, applications for studies (processing of applications, organization of entrance exams),

● registration of requests,

Acta Oeconomica Universitatis Selye is a scientific journal of the Faculty of Economics and Informatics of J. Selye University in Komárno. The journal is published twice a year, focusing on scientific submissions of high quality. The scientific journal welcomes scientific papers related to the field of Economics, Management and Marketing, Trade and Business, Quantitative Methods and Statistics, Managerial Psychology, Applied Ethics.

SELYE E-STUDIES

Selye e-studies is an online reviewed scientific journal of Faculty of Economics and Informatics at J. Selye University, registered with ISSN code 1338-1598.The online journal serves as a forum for the introduction of any original scientific contribution related to the field of economics, management, finance, banking, marketing, trade and business, public administration and regional development, quantitative methods and statistics, which is published in English, German, Slovak, Czech and Hungarian language. The editorial board will accept studies which have not been published yet, or have not been submitted for publication – and this applies to all staff at UJS, regardless their status. Author of the submission is responsible for the contextual appropriateness and for the observance of the instructions for authors. Papers to be published will be selected by the board of editors, on the basis of the reviewers’ opinion, the papers’ scientific novelty and benefit, as well as their quality.

About the Department

Welcome to the Department of Economics
 
It is a great pleasure to welcome you at the Department of Economics of the Faculty of Economics and Informatics at J. Selye University. Activities of the department fall into three categories. First, we provide tuition in accredited study programmes of the faculty. Besides the subjects focusing on basic knowledge in Economics and Business Economics we teach subjects (Accounting, Business Law) concentrating on external environment influencing the business, as well as subjects providing field-specific knowledge (Economic History, Economic Sociology, EU studies). Students will be able to approach and communicate issues of an economic nature (Research Methodology, Business Communication, Presentation Techniques).
Colleagues of the department are involved in research activity. The scientific output is realized via research projects through inter-institutional cooperation or in projects run by the faculty. The third major field of activity of our department is publishing scientific results in scientific journals and presenting them on national and international conferences. The main task of the department is to fulfil the mission of the Faculty of Economics and Informatics of J. Selye University by contributing with the above-mentioned activities.

Department of Mathematics

Welcome to the website of the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Economics and Informatics at J. Selye University.

The Department of Mathematics provides the teaching of mathematics and statistics in the following study programmes:

Teacher of Mathematics (bachelor’s and master’s programme)
Theory of teaching Mathematics and Informatics (doctoral training)
Applied Informatics (bachelor’s and master’s programme)
Business Economics and Management (bachelor’s programme)
Kindergarten pedagogy (bachelor’s programme)
Junior primary school teacher (master's programme)
Rural development (bachelor’s programme)

In addition to teaching, our activities include writing and publishing lecture notes and textbooks, as well as participating in scientific conferences and meetings. Our research work covers various areas of number theory and mathematical analysis, the possibilities of using interactive mathematical software in teaching mathematics and the discussion of current issues in mathematics education and methodology

Research

Intelligent Robotics Centre

The Intelligent Robotics Centre led by prof. Dr. Várkonyiné Kóczy Annamária, DSc was established in 2015 with the help of OPVaV-2015/1.1/03-SORO EU project „Modernization of research and development infrastructure in nanotechnology and intelligent space at J. Selye University”. The Intelligent Robotics Centre supporting scientific research is a part of the Department of Mathematics and Informatics and located on the first floor of the Officer’s Pavilion in Komárno.

The Intelligent Robotics Centre of the Faculty of Economics provides the necessary infrastructure for several type of research:

Eto-robotics, human-machine communication (ETOSPACE), collaboration of robotic systems, machine-machine communication (ROSCO), autonomous robots (AUTOR), autonomous 2D navigation  in static and dynamic environment, development of unmanned robotic vehicles, autonomic navigation (3D),  3D and 4D (space-time) modelling and reconstruction. The intelligent space-related, cloud-based „big data” data centre ensures data storage and processing, as well as determines an independent research direction.

Department of Foreign Languages and Communication

About the Department

The Department of Foreign Languages and Communication is in charge of teaching foreign languages and communication at the Faculty of Economics and Informatics. Undergraduates in the Corporate Economics and Management programme attend Business English or Business German seminars throughout their whole study period, while students in the Business Economics and Management master’s degree programme learn it for three out of the four semesters.

The objective of the department is to develop students' business communication skills in a foreign language. Emphasis is placed on the development of business communication skills using specific, field-related vocabulary. By acquiring the necessary skills, students will be ready to use the given foreign language at work.

Students at the Applied Informatics study programme can choose English as an optional subject during three semesters.

About the Department

Welcome to the Department of Management

Is a great pleasure to welcome you at the Department of Management of the Faculty of Economics and Informatics at J. Selye University. The Department of Management is actively involved in the training of both economists and business managers at the first two academic levels. The department is mainly made up of lecturers from Slovakia and Hungary, which contributes to the rapid sharing of knowledge and expertise. Not only can this knowledge be applied in practice in the two neighbouring countries, it can also be utilised in a wider European context.  By publishing papers in scientific journals and in conference proceedings at home and abroad the members of the department develop relevant knowledge potential.  It is our priority to increase the value of the department, to pursue a wide range of academic activities and to continuously improve the scientific activity of our students.
